Frequently Asked Questions

Norfolk Street 2.jpg
  • Can you help me with curtains & blinds, or a new sofa, or do you only do full projects?
Absolutely, we can help you with custom and bespoke upholstery, made to measure curtains and blinds, and source just about any piece of furniture you might want for your home. We are very happy to help you with just one blind, one set of curtains or a beautifully crafted bespoke sofa.
  • Do you only work locally? I am not local to you but would love your help with my project.
We would absolutely love to help you and as long as the project fits for us and we are a fit for you, why wouldn't we? We have worked all over Yorkshire and would absolutely consider working anywhere in the UK, into Europe and even further afield.
  • Your projects look great and I would love to come and talk to you about mine, but my budget isn't huge.
We work to your budget - yes some clients have high budgets and some clients have lower budgets, but as long as your budget is reasonable for what you want to achieve, we can usually help. Just drop us an email, call us, or book an appointment and lets have a chat.
  • Can you help me with my bathroom or kitchen?
Yes we can. We have designed many bathrooms, powder rooms, kitchens and utility rooms for our projects - some of our clients just want something 'a bit different' and feel that they can't get that just going to their local bathroom or kitchen company. We can produce designs for your builder and trades to work to, fully documented into working drawings. We don't offer our turnkey service for bathrooms and kitchens, however we can work on a "design only" basis for these, which usually works best as part of a whole house project.
  • I am renovating, can you help me with layouts, electrical plans, space planning and things like that?
Yes we can. We have helped a number of clients undertaking major renovations, including space planning, working out completely new layouts and configurations, the design of kitchens and bathrooms, electrical and lighting plans and just about anything else you need. We have an in-house team that can put together drawing packages for builders and trades to work to.
  • When is the best time to engage an Interior Designer?
As early as possible - the earlier you engage us, the more we can help you and the better the end result will be. This is especially true when you are doing a renovation or are building a new home - if we come onboard early in the project, we can help you with things like space planning, room layouts, where to run services, electrical and lighting plans, floor finishes and so much more. If you engage us after you have done all of those things you risk ending up with a very compromised design and certainly won't get the best result you could have had.
  • You are open by appointment but I only want some new curtains
We open by appointment because sometimes we need to be on site or at a meeting, so we can't be 100% sure that the studio will be open. However, there is generally someone in the studio between 9am and 4pm Tuesday to Friday and you are more than welcome to pop in. If we can help you on the spot we will, however we would prefer that you make an appointment because that way we know to expect you and can make absolutely sure that we can help you at that time.
  • What is Turnkey Interior Design?
This is what we specialise in and it is where we feel we get the best results for our clients. Working to an agreed budget, we design your room, or space, or whole house, and we deal with everything start to finish, so you don't have to. We engage and manage the finishing trades, design any bespoke items, source absolutely everything, amalgamate deliveries of all items into storage until we are ready to install, deal with any issues with suppliers or trades, and then deliver and install everything in one go. We dress the room(s) with accessories, greenery and soft furnishings and then hand over the finished project to you to enjoy.
  • Do you offer this service for just one room?
Yes, absolutely. We have helped our clients with lounges, bedrooms, dining rooms, games rooms, party rooms, hallways and so much more. Although we love to help you with your whole home, we are more than happy to work with you on one room.
  • How far in advance do I need to book you for this service?
As we are boutique practice, we can only work on a few projects at a time - we want to make sure that every client gets the absolute best from us. That being the case we like to advise clients to contact us to book in their project early as they possibly can.
  • How much would it be to completely change my lounge?
That is a tricky question to answer, and we have worked on turnkey lounge projects from £15,000 to £50,000, but generally we say an average project would be around £25,000, depending on size, exactly what is needed, whether we can work with any existing floor finishes or pieces of furniture, how much of it will be completely bespoke, and things like that.

  • I am building a new house, can you work with my architect and builder?
Yes we can, we can work alongside you and your team and can help with space planning, overall and individual room layouts and configurations, the design of kitchens and bathrooms, utility and boot rooms, design electrical and lighting plans, floor finishes, feature ceilings, design for integrated curtains and blinds, smart home systems, and just about anything else you need. We have an in-house team that can put together drawing packages for builders and trades to work to.

Yes of course, we carry a good variety of fabric books from a number of high quality fabric houses and can help you with made to measure curtains and blinds, whether that is one set for one room, or curtains and blinds for every window in your house. Just make an appointment to get started.
  • What sort of upholstery do you offer?
We work with a range of upholsterers and can help you with sofas, chairs, dining chairs, headboards, complete beds, ottomans, footstools and much more. With designs from the very traditional, right through to modern and contemporary. We carry a wide range of fabric books from leading fabric houses and can design something custom, just for you. If you want something completely bespoke, we can absolutely do that too, as we do for a number of our projects. From giant 'U' shaped sofas for cinema and TV rooms, to ornate feature headboards.
